Wedding Invitations & More: Your Complete Wedding Stationery Checklist

Every bride and groom will have wedding invitations on their to-do list, but they may not realize how many other stationery items they might want. Below is a comprehensive wedding stationery checklist divided into the different phases of wedding preparation for easier planning. Although many are optional, this will help with choosing the paper goods you want.

Pre-Wedding Events

  • Engagement party invitations
  • Save-the-date cards
  • Wedding website card (can be included with save-the-dates)
  • Bridal shower invitations
  • Bachelor/bachelorette party invitations
  • Rehearsal dinner invitations
  • Luggage tags and hotel welcome basket inserts (for destination weddings)
  • Itinerary cards for the big day

Wedding Invitations – What’s Included?

  • Invitation card
  • RSVP card and inner envelope with printed return address and postage (or RSVP website information)
  • Detail cards listing the accommodations, directions, and dress code
  • Reception card (if some guests are only invited to the reception) with envelope, return address, and postage
  • Outer envelope with optional liner. Don’t forget the postage may be more than a standard letter, based on the size and weight of the invitations.

 

Wedding Day Stationery

  • Ceremony programs
  • Welcome and directional (“this way to the ceremony”) signs
  • Reserved seating signs
  • “In loving memory” memorial displays
  • Seating chart, table numbers, and place cards
  • Menu cards, including bar menu or signature cocktails sign
  • Guestbook
  • Favor tags or labels
  • Optional reception signs for hashtags, photo booth, bathroom baskets, cake and food flavors, etc.

After the Wedding

  • Thank you cards for guests
  • Thank you cards for vendors
  • Optional photo sharing cards (to mail or post online)
